SHANI RIGSBEE TO RELEASE AT THE CASBAH NEXT YEAR
Singer and actress Shani Rigsbee will release her new album, At The Casbah, early next year. The album will be packaged with a bonus DVD that includes two videos and fifteen minutes of behind the scenes footage. The album will also include Rigsbee’s “El Llamar De Pasion” which was featured in the Academy Award winning movie, Crash. The first single from At The Casbah is “Get Somebody” featuring V Style. |
Rigsbee explained how her 2001 album, Call Of The Wild, differs from At The Casbah. The singer said, |
“Call of the Wild was really a chance for me to explore a lot of the kind of, you know, I would call more dance eastern rhythms that I really wanted to explore. And I don’t think the pop music scene, the R&B pop music scene, was ready for that merger of all those rhythms yet at the time when I recorded it.” |
Rigsbee added, |
“Interestingly enough right after I released it, then you started seeing a lot of JayZ and a lot of the other hip hop artists kinda putting that out. But for me at the time I was recording, it wasn’t really time yet. So that album was really more kind of combining European sounds and latin rhythms and eastern rhythms in a kind more of that dancehall feel, you know.” |
Rigsbee screen credits include: 1996’s Crossworlds, 2003’s Irangeles, 2003’s House of Sand and Fog, and 2005’s The Keeper: The Legend Of Omar Khayyam. |
