Shani Rigsbee planning special album release party for At The Casbah at the House Of Blues…..

Singer and actress Shani Rigsbee is planning a special album release party for her new album, At The Casbah. The release party is scheduled for Thursday, March 1st, at the Foundation Room of the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. At the Casbah will be released as a special CD/DVD that will include two videos and behind the scene footage from the recording of the new project. So far music from the album has been featured in six motion pictures including National Lampoon’s Pledge This!, G.I Jesus, and Academy Award winner, Crash.

Rigsbee explained the title of her new album. She said,

“Casbah to me represented this place which is kind of Morocco and Spain. So you know got that, you got that kind of North African feel and you got the Spanish Mediterranean kind of you know…I don’t know it’s just got a kind of romantic flavor to it. And also people aren’t really sure where the Casbah is and I like that because to me it’s also kind of metaphor for an idea for where all of the people and sounds and vibes can kind of co-exist. It doesn’t have to be about one genre specific thing.”

Earlier this month, Rigsbee performed during New York Fashion Week at the prestigious Rolling with Style gala which benefits Women’s Health and Spinal Chord Research. The singer, who is an ovarian cancer survivor, will also perform at the American Cancer Society’s annual Swords of Hope on March 30th, 2007.

Rigebee’s last release was 2001’s Call of The Wild.
