SEVENDUST READY HOPE AND SORROW, DAUGHTRY AND KENNEDY GUEST
Sevendust is set to release their seventh studio album, second on their own label, Hope And Sorrow, on April 1, and they’re not working for the man. |
Sevendust is set to release their new album, Hope And Sorrow, on April 1, and it will be their seventh, but only second on their own 7Bros. Records. It was produced by Sean Groove, Morgan Rose & John Connolly in Atlanta, Georgia at Tree Sounds Studios. Chris Daughtry and Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge will be making guest appearances on the album, which the band hopes is the one that opens the floodgates for the legendary hard-rock band. |
Morgan Rose, drummer for Sevendust, is pleased they’re working for themselves, and he explained the problems that can result when other label decision makers, indie or not, are involved. |
“Well, I would sit there and not argue too much with what the president of a record label says, because I was like, ‘If he doesn’t agree with it, he’s not going to put any money into it. If he doesn’t put any money into it, it’s not going to sell and if it doesn’t sell, I’m going to lose my deal, and if I loose my deal I’ve got to find another band or the band has to find another deal.’ And I’m like, ‘I’ve got a kid at the house.’ It makes you change the way that you look at what’s most important in the music business. It’s almost a give and take. ‘You don’t know s–t about music, but I’ll go ahead and do what you say here because you’ve got the wallet for it, and I’ll go ahead and stick my songs over here and we’ll see who stands up. And they throw the ones that they like usually out there, and you get what you get.” |
Sevendust’s last effort was 2007’s Alpha, but Hope And Sorrow will be the first album they’ve brought in outside talent since 2001’s Animosity. |
