SEVENDUST GETS ASYLUM MARCH 6, INTEGRITY BACK INTACT

Sevendust has signed a deal, putting their in-house imprint, 7Bros, in the hands of Warner Brothers subsidiary, Asylum Records. The band’s new album titled Alpha, will be released on March 6, 2007. Fans can get a peak at the album’s first single, “Deathstar.” |
The band has been through several labels throughout their nearly ten year career, and in the early part of this decade drummer Morgan Rose admitted they compromised their integrity. |
“We sacrificed our integrity a little bit for the man. You know? When you’ve got kids at the house you kind of say, ‘I’ve got my heavy stuff over here, I’ve got my “Tits On A Boar” over here, and I’ve got my “Disease” over here, but I’m going to give you these over here because you might make it a single and my kid might get the braces she needs. Because you start thinking, ‘I don’t know how long this is going to make it. I don’t know how long this will last. I’ve done everything my way, and now you’re taking it away from me. We let the ball get out of our hands for a minute, and now we got the ball back. So that’s the good way of giving the finger is saying ‘We’re going to do the way we did from the start, and we’re gong to get back to the beginning, get back to the basics.” |
This will be the band’s second album without guitarist Clint Lowery who left to form Dark New Day with his brother Corey. Taking his place in Sevendust is Ex-Snot guitarist Sonny Mayo. Sevendust has a brief tour scheduled in late December starting December 27 in Norfolk, Virginia and ending on New Year’s Eve in Tampa, Florida. 2007 dates are in the process of being scheduled. |
