SERJ FINDS BUG IN SYSTEM
Former System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian has a new Bug for the silver screen. |
Serj Tankian is keeping busy with his post-System Of A Down career. Tankian who is taking on more of a role in his label, Serjical Strike, and recording a solo album has recently entered into the world of movie scores and soundtracks. Tankian’s work will be featured on the new movie, Bug, which features Ashley Judd and Harry Connick Jr. |
The multi-talented Tankian talked about the dark comedy. |
“I co-composed for this film called Bug by William Friedkin. It’s got Ashley Judd and Harry Connick Jr. It’s a really, really interesting dark, almost dark comedy kind of. I don’t want to talk about the film because I don’t know how they’re describing it, but to me it was just really wacky and a really out there kind of film. So, it was really fun working on it and doing some of the compositions for it, yeah.” |
He discussed how he got involved in the film. |
“A good friend of mine at Lions Gate called me and said that William Friedkin is looking for someone to add to the score that they’d already have and to see if I’d be interested. Friedkin did the Exorcist and all these amazing films. So, I was definitely interested in meeting him, and I met him. He was a really cool guy and a gentleman, and I wanted to see what he was looking for. Mostly what he was looking for was character compositions. So, when a certain character walks into a frame you want to give a certain type of music to represent their vibe.” |
The film was originally slated to be released in late 2006, but it’s been pushed back for release sometime in 2007. |
