SENSES FAIL BUDDY WORKING ON SOLO ALBUM
Senses Fail have returned to the road, but singer Buddy Neilsen reveals he’s got a solo project in the works. |
Senses Fail is out supporting their new album, Still Searching, and the band will be playing various headline shows across the country this month, with a tour kicking off June 12 in New Jersey. It will be the last time for fans to see the band for a while. After the tour Senses Fail is taking some time off. Guitarist Garrett is focusing on his clothing line, bassist Mike is zooming in on his side project Knights In Paris, and vocalist James “Buddy” Nielsen also has some solo stuff in the works. |
We talked with Neilsen about the new solo songs. |
“Yeah, I’m going to work on something when we’re off this summer. Heavier. It’s going to be pretty heavy. It’s going to be Screeching Weasels mixed with Propagandhi mixed with…. It’s going to be heavier, more political, more aggressive in your face faster kind of stuff.” |
He was asked if he wants to express things that he can’t in Senses Fail. |
“I mean, sometimes, yeah. That’s one reason why I want to do a side project so it’s not associated with Senses Fail because we’re not a political band, but I have a lot of views and things I’d like to write about. I don’t necessarily think that people that like Senses Fail really like Senses Fail because I have views like that. But, I would like to do something else to really say what I have to say and put it into songs.” |
Senses Fail has two new videos; the recently released “Can’t Be Saved” and the newly filmed “The Priest And The Matador.” During the break, Mike, the band’s bassist will not only be working on Knights In Paris, he’ll also be going back to school at Rutgers in New Jersey to continue his college education. |
