SCOTT IAN GIVES AND UPDATE ON UPCOMING ANTHRAX ALBUM
Scott Ian talks about Anthrax always trying to get heavier with each album and he gives us an update on the bands highly anticipated upcoming album |
Anthrax are nearing completion of their upcoming new album, which will be the bands first album of new material since 2003’s “We’ve Come For You All” and the band hopes to have the album released by October of 2009. Having risen to popularity in the early 1980’s thrash metal scene the band had a hand in shaping Metal music along with Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer. The band is also notable for being the first band to combine heavy metal music with Rap music with their song “Bring the Noise” from Public Enemy’s album “It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back”. |
We caught up with guitarist Scott Ian at the Golden God Awards to get an update on where the band is at in the recording process. |
“We just have some vocal fixes left and then mixing. So we’re actually really close. We’re probably about a month away from being done. I think it’s coming out in October.” |
Scott Ian also talked about the band always trying to get heavier with each passing album. |
“Yeah it is, of course it is. Everything we do is heavier than the last thing we did. Or at least we try it you know. Right on.” |
Not only has guitarist Rob Caggiano returned to Anthrax recently, but the band also now has Dan Nelson, formerly of Devilsize as the their new lead vocalist. The band also recently announced the title of their upcoming new album will be “Worship Music.” Look for Anthrax to announce an extensive run of tour dates upon completion and release of the album. |
