SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS STARS IN SESSION
(VIDEO) The stars of School for Scoundrels weighed in on classroom tactics for teaching men to win women over. |
The School for Scoundrel stars were in session at the New York City premiere. Napoleon Dynamite star Jon Heder takes being nerdy to the classroom for a complete macho make-over so he can ask out his Australian neighbor played by Jacinda Barrett. The lessons taught by master pick-up artist Dr. P played by Billy Bob Thornton include being dangerous with women because it’s cool and never compliment your date excessively. Jon says he’d have to agree. |
Jacinda Barrett becomes Billy Bob’s prey in the film when Jon Heder’s character starts excelling in his manhandling ways. Jacinda says that kind of counseling would never fly with her. |
“That’s one of the other ones I’m probably for that one. It’s to do something cool. I don’t know if it means taking off your helmet and diving head first down a cliff that’s probably stupid. But that’s one of the ones, the only few I might agree with a little bit. I probably complimented no enough. I probably took that advice but never did it. Now I compliment my wife all the time and I probably overkill it. It’s numbing her.” |
Billy Bob Thornton’s mantra in the school for scoundrels classroom is to be a lion with women. In real life Billy says you need a bit more balance to win a woman’s affections, and admits he might’ve needed a little scoundrel counseling when he was a student. |
“Terrible advice that he gives the guys. Wear sunglasses it’s cool, always lie, never compliment a woman. That’s terrible. Those values wouldn’t work in the real world I think. But it sure works for the movie. It’s a lot of fun to play between the two of them. You know it’s funny because in the movie the advice he’s giving Jon he doesn’t take for himself when he comes after me so.” |
School For Scoundrels opens Friday. |
“I think you need to have a good balance of lion and lamb. I don’t think you can just be a total lion. I was actually more a wide-eyed innocent kid when I was in school. Up until I was probably 16 or 17, that’s when I started to spread my wings a little more. I was probably more in school part of the class that Jon Heder’s character would’ve been in this movie.”rn |
