SAVING ABEL LOVES LABEL, TOURS WITH AVENGED SEVENFOLD
Saving Abel was asked how much the label interfered with their self-titled debut as they ready for a fall tour with Avenged Sevenfold. |
Saving Abel is riding the hot hand from their single “Addicted,” and they’ll follow up their trek with Puddle Of Mudd with a tour leg with Avenged Sevenfold and Buckcherry. That tour starts mid-September and runs through October. After being at Number One on Billboard’s Heatseeker’s chart, the album has been creeping up the Billboard 200, standing at Number 72 this week. |
Jared Weeks, vocalist for Saving Abel, and drummer Blake Dixon were asked if there was a noticeable change now that they’ve hooked on with a major label. |
[Dixon] “Most of it was already done before…. [Weeks] “Yeah, there was like three or four songs off the album that were — what would you say, pre label? — it was after the label that we went back in the studios and we recorded a few other songs. We had the EP album done before we got signed, and it was shopped for a year. We didn’t have any bites on it I guess, but thank god we did. We came through, man. It’s not that really much of a difference. The album was really good, really versatile. It’s like an Eagles album. You can put it in, listen to the whole thing and not take it out. That’s really what we wanted to do. We wanted to have that sound, that ear, something familiar. People like that…. Radio! [Dixon] “We didn’t want to put anything on that was like, ‘Well, that’s good enough. We just need to fill some space.’ We wanted to make sure that we were proud of everything that we had done on the album.” |
Saving Abel first released an EP in 2005 with producer Skidd Mills, who also worked with 12 Stones and Saliva.rn |
