RYAN GOSLING GETS TO KNOW HIS DOLL CO-STAR

Ryan Gosling came to believe that his doll co-star was like flesh and blood.

You might say Ryan Gosling’s co-star in Lars And The Real Girl is a real doll, because in fact that’s what she is, a made to order beauty named Bianca that his character believes is flesh and blood.

Ryan got so into the role that he too believed Bianca was more than just heavy plastic.

“Yeah like we would take walks on our own, you know romantic walks. She is real, I mean she’s there. She’s got a real presence. You bring her on set and then everything changes. She’s fascinating. I met her at the read-through and I didn’t take my eyes off her. I kind of bonded to her. We would take walks on the set together. She had a really interesting affect on the crew and on me and everybody that comes in contact with her so in a way the film is kind of truthful in that sense.”

Ryan stayed clear of learning about websites where you can order these life-like dolls.

“No I didn’t really do any research as far as the doll aspect was concerned because for me I had to be in a real love story that didn’t involve a doll. To Lars he’s not aware that she’s a doll so I sort of distanced myself from all of that.”

In case you’re wondering yes, Ryan did keep his doll as well as director Craig Gillespie who has his own version of Bianca at home. Mmm, maybe Ryan will bring her on location to New Zealand where he’ll be shooting The Lovely Bones. Lars And The Real Girl opens Friday October 12th.
