ROSE BYRNE BETS ON THE UNDEAD

28 Weeks Later star Rose Byrne wagered on a zombie race with her co-stars.

Marie Antoinette star Rose Byrne stars in 28 Weeks Later as a military doctor stationed with the American army after they’ve quarantined the British Isles when they’ve been infected by a rage virus.

Her mission in the film is to save the next outbreak from happening which could potentially turn a small area of London’s population into the undead.

“Working with the infected is excellent. They’re so dedicated. They’re so fantastic. They have to run and scream and shout and gurgle blood and stuff constantly and they never falter, they never wane with their enthusiasm. And they’re also incredibly funny because while we’re all waiting around or we’re waiting for the next shot to be set up there they are covered with blood having a cigarette or texting or chatting. They just look ridiculous. It’s like a weird Saturday Night Live skit.”

Rose might’ve found it bizarre sitting around between takes with the zombies and the absurdity of it all led her and the rest of the cast to wager at their expense.

“And there was one scene where the infected are all chasing after us through this field just after the helicopter comes down and they were doing a shot of them all running and we started placing bets on who was gonna come first running in a row. And then they started to hit the decks because the ground was really rough. They’re so great with their movements though. I’ve got one on my screensaver on my phone. I love it.”

28 Weeks Later also starring Robert Carlyle and Jeremy Renner opens Friday in theaters.
