ROSARIO DAWSON IN REAL CAR ACCIDENT
After surviving the car crashing stunts in Grindhouse, Rosario Dawson got into a real accident. |
Grindhouse star Rosario Dawson managed to make it out of the Death Proof car crash stunts with Kurt Russell behind the wheel pretty much unscathed but she wasn’t as lucky in real life. |
Ironically on the way to the Los Angeles premiere Rosario’s driver got into an accident but she was able to maintain a sense of humor about it. |
“It was funny actually just before the premiere I got into a car accident. They had hired a driver for me, I was doing a bunch of press and stuff and he made a right turn that he shouldn’t have made and I was in the back seat and we got hit on my side. I was like, seriously I’m gonna get taken out by some L.A. driver when I was doing 360s and stunt cars for six weeks. Everything we were doing was so dangerous and then of course the one time I actually do get hurt was randomly on like Fairfax.” |
Getting into a real life fender bender brought Rosario back to the danger she and her fellow female cast members put themselves in for the sake of film making like Zoe Bell who hung onto the hood of the speeding car. |
“Luckily nothing terrible happened but it definitely shook me up a little bit and it was kind of interesting because it brought all of that experience back from just how much we were playing with fire making this film. It’s so well worth it though, it’s such an incredible thing. I remember watching Brad Pitt in Fight Club and I wanted to be him when I grew up and now I want to be Zoe Bell when I grow up.” |
Rosario, a born and bred New Yorker had to get her driver’s license out of necessity to get around Los Angeles but she’d rather leave the high speed car chases to the movies. Grindhouse is currently playing in theaters. |
