ROSAMUND PIKE RISES UP CORPORATE LADDER

British actress Rosamund Pike stars as a rising corporate attorney who wants to groom Ryan Gosling’s district attorney for similar success in Fracture.

Rosamund who was chosen for the role from her performance as the mild mannered Jane Bennet in Pride and Prejudice says Nikki Gardner was not a woman she admired.

“Who I’ve actually found quite difficult because she’s someone I don’t quite agree with politically or temperamentally or stylistically I suppose. She’s one of these incredibly driven women who has chosen a career at the expense of family relationships almost, love life, anything outside her job.”

Rosamund’s character carries on a business and personal relationship with Gosling who finally realizes her motives are purely selfish ones. She says Ryan was not at all the man she expected him to be.

“Ryan really intrigued me. I mean I’d seen his stuff and thought it was brilliant. I thought he might be somebody who was very serious and took himself very seriously. I thought he might be a bit of a bore actually but he’s not at all.”

Rosamund was also a Bond girl playing a rogue MI-6 agent in Die Another Day. Next she’ll be seen in Fugitive Pieces based on the novel by Anne Michaels which tells the story of a seven-year-old whose parents are murdered by Nazi soldiers in Poland during the Second World War. Fracture opens today in theatres.
