ROBERT PLANT TALKS LED ZEP REUNION, PAST GRAMMY SNUBS

Robert Plant won five Grammy Awards on Sunday night (February 8) at the 51st Awards, and the Grammy Academy finally decided to bestow him with multiple Grammy Awards, figuring it was better late than never. In fact he won one with Page & Plant, but Plant’s Sunday success was unmatched by the band considered his biggest legacy, the energetic and frenetic Led Zeppelin who never won a Grammy Award for any of their legendary albums in the past. |
With all the talk surrounding a Led Zeppelin reunion, Plant was asked if he could see himself possibly participating in both Plant & Krauss and a reformed Zep. |
“How do I look? This is where I’m staying. Just like this. Work that out. That was just the last question, the one before that one.” |
Artisan News asked Plant if he thought with the five wins on Sunday the Grammy voters were making up for previous nomination snubs. |
“You know we used to deal with the American press and media in a particular fashion in Led Zeppelin. Sometimes, we’d leave them suspended on coat hooks in the dressing room when they came to review the show and leave them there for the entire show guarded by a large dog. So we were reviled quite rightly and we had a great time.” |
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss took home Grammy Awards for Best Record, Best Album, Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals, Best Country Collaboration With Vocals, and Best Contemporary Folk/Americana Album sweeping all five categories they were nominated in. The unlikely duo are already working on their follow up album, which will once again be produced by T Bone Burnett. It was also rumored the Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham were auditioning vocalists to possibly work together in the future, but that plan has since been scrapped as well. |
