Swift, who was one of the founding members of the X-ecutioners, left the group in Setember 2004 after creative clashes with Columbia Records and his groupmates. Swift shared that one of the biggest issues was the group’s new label, Columbia/Sony, which had acquired their contract from Loud. The label wanted them to repeat the success of their collaboration, “It’s Goin’ Down,” with Linkin Park. |
“I felt like dudes started to kinda get on different pages. The chemistry wasn’t as tight as it was. I would attribute it to all the stress that we were experiencing. Touring, not understanding how to handle the success that came our way, not understanding how to handle the label, created a lot of commotion within the group. It got to the point where I just really wasn’t happy so I decided to leave and start working on my own album, Wargames. I decided to kinda like just find myself again and put the fun back into the music. So I left in 2004, September, and in January of 2005, the X-ecutioners got dropped from Sony.” |
Swift explained his decision to leave the group. He said, |
