ROADRUNNER UNITED DOUBLE DISC DVD IN DECEMBER
Roadrunner Records has announced the release of their famous Roadrunner United concert at Nokia in NYC, which features members of the label’s bands. |
Roadrunner records has set the release date of December 9 for the two-disc DVD of one of metal’s biggest events ever, Roadrunner United The Concert. The concert took place at New York City’s Nokia Theater in 2005 to mark the 25th anniversary of the label. It featured once-in-a-lifetime events such as Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor performing “Bother” with Life of Agony’s Keith Caputo, and Killswitch Engage’s former singer Jesse Leach dueting with current vocalist Howard Jones for “My Last Serenade.” |
The concert was an offshoot of the album, Roadrunner United: The All-Star Sessions?, during which four team captains — Joey Jordison of Slipknot, Matt Heafy of Trivium, Dino Cazares ex-Fear Factory/Brujeria, and Robert Flynn of Machine Head — led an all-star crew of Roadrunner artists to perform new and original songs. In an interview done at the time, Jordison talked about the experience. |
“Basically it was a chance to work with a bunch of killer musicians that I’ve been influenced by growing up, like with a lot of my old bands, and I tried to write in a bunch of different styles that I’ve never written before. It was a real challenge, and I have killer memories from what all these people had brought to my songs. It was just mindblowing. What everyone did was just amazing. I got to learn from a lot of killer people, so…” |
Others at the concert included former Judas Priest vocalist Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, Biohazard, and Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed among others. |
