RINGO STARR SAYS OH MY LORD, FOR GEORGE?

Ringo Starr was recently out in California promoting the release of the Concert For Bangladesh DVD, which he anchored with his drumming over thirty years ago. Recently, Starr released his solo album, Choose Love, and it features the song “Oh My Lord.” |
Starr admitted to us that he played around with the name of the song in honor of his former Beatles bandmate, the late George Harrison. |
“It’s written from our life experience, ‘Oh my lord I need your help so bad. It’s a song that came to me, writing them, and that’s how it comes. It wasn’t really, ‘Oh this is for George. But because he did ‘Oh My Lord,’ mine was originally called ‘Help Me Lord,’ but ‘Oh My Lord’ was a better line.” |
Ringo Starr’s Choose Love was released June 7, 2005 on Koch Records. As far as a tour in support of the album, Ringo is still taking a wait-and-see attitude. He’s also mulling over whether or not he’ll take his all-star band out on tour this summer. |
