RINGO STARR BRINGS LIVERPOOL 8 TO GRAMMYS AND ALLSTARS
Ringo Starr announced he’ll be touring his latest, Liverpool 8, with the Allstars, and recently showed off his tech at the Grammy Awards. |
Ringo Starr released his new album, Liverpool 8, last month, and he’s been on a roll since then. The Beatles’ Cirque Du Soleil inspired the musical compilation Love, and took home two Grammy Awards: Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or other Visual Medium and Best Surround Sound Album. |
Ringo Starr and collaborator Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame were both on hand to present at the recent 50th Annual Grammy Awards, and backstage Ringo talked about his reasons for participating in the show. |
“I got a new CD out, and who knows, maybe next time this year I may be receiving. Who knows? We’ll have to wait and see.” |
Starr showed off his new bracelet, which doubles as an album and an EPK that plugs into your computer. |
“I do have quite a new way of putting out a record. Unplug me Dave. Look at this. This is it’s my record, some artwork, and an EPK. It’s a USB, put it in your computer and rock with Ringo – which was helped by Dave.” [Stewart] “It’s clever because it’s got a whole documentary on it. You can put on it a live concert on it and stuff like that.” |
Of course where there’s a Ringo album, there’s a tour including his Allstars. |
“I’m touring this summer. Yes, I’m out again, Ringo and the Allstars so look out for that and a lot of new exciting people on stage with me.” |
