Rihanna pulls upset win of female artist of the year and inks deals with LG and Covergirl……..

Barbados-born teen singer Rihanna won three Billboard Music Awards on Monday, December 4th, in Las Vegas including Female Hot 100 artist of the year, Pop 100 artist of the year, and female artist of the year. The singer shared that she was surprised to win the female artist of the year award considering her competition. Rihanna said,

In related news, Rihanna just landed a major endorsement deal become a CoverGirl model. Queen Latifah, Molly Sims and Keri Russell are some of the other celebrities currently under contract with the company. Rihanna’s first CoverGirl ad campaign is scheduled to kick-off next summer.

“I actually won a few awards tonight, one being the female artist of the year. That’s pretty big cause that was a tough category and I won so it makes me feel very, very proud. In my category for female artist of the year was Mary J. Blige and Beyonce. I never thought I would have won that one, not at all. When I first started singing, I never thought I’d ever be in the same category as my idols and to actually win in the same category as them is a big deal.”

The singer has also hooked up with mobile company LG for her very own Chocolate Phone complete with her music and videos. The company held an after-party for the Billboard Music Awards in honor of the singer.

On the musical front, Rihanna is still promoting her platinum sophomore set, A Girl Like Me. The latest single from the project is “Break It Off” featuring Sean Paul.
