REV RUN DELIVERS KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT CMJ

Run-DMC’s Reverend Run delivered the keynote address at this year’s CMJ Music Conference in New York. The rapper responded to questions and shared his group’s storied past to a captivated crowd as well as some information on his new MTV reality show, Run’s House.

The show is slated to premiere in October and will give viewers an inside view into the lives of Rev. Run, his wife, and five children. The rapper explained, “

“We’re bringing a real show. They’re gonna love the Reverend. The Rev is father knows best. He’s a rapper that became a reverend. It’s funny as can be. Not only is it funny, but it’s very healing. My kids are in order. Things are running and I’m moving in a way that’s very, very good. So the question is the perfect question of the day, was how is MTV going to react, the audience, react to my show? The audience is gonna love it. MTV right now bought this show and now they have to get into the fact that they’ve bought it, and now they got to stick with the fact that they’ve got the Reverend Run. Now this is by no means a gospel show.”

In addition to the new show, Rev. Run will release his first solo album, Distortion, on the newly-formed Russell Simmons Music Group label later this year.
