REUNITING WITH WARRANT JUST LIKE SEX AFTER BACK SURGERY
Lead vocalist Jani Lane talks about his feeling in reuniting with Warrant and why it feels like sex after back surgery |
It’s been nearly 20 years and eight albums later, but the buzz surrounding Warrant remains. The band has seen many changes since their first taste of success in the late 80s/early 90s, but in 2008 they returned to their original lineup which consisted of Jani Lane (vocals); Joey Allen (lead guitar); Jerry Dixon (bass); Erik Turner (Guitar) and Steven Sweet (drums). It’s hard to believe but it’s been 14 years since Warrants most successful lineup took the stage together and perhaps the most significant member to return to the fold was vocalist Jani Lane. |
We caught up with Jani Lane recently to get his thoughts on reuniting with Warrant in 2008 and how he felt after their first rehearsal. |
“It was strange at first. I kind of refer to it as sex after back surgery, a little uncomfortable but you still do it. No, it was very weird but after the first rehearsal we kind of got into it again and we’re very excited.” |
Warrant will be touring this summer with dates extending until August 31st in Richmond, Texas. The band also plan to release a classic live performance DVD filled with unreleased material later this summer as well as an intimate Sunset Strip club date, which is also expected to take place this year for the bands loyal fans. |
