RESCUE ME ACTORS HEED FIREMEN’S ADVICE
(VIDEO) The firemen actors of Rescue Me learned invaluable advice for their characters from real firefighters. |
Playing a fireman on Rescue Me isn’t just about wooing the women. There are also fires to be put out and the actors had to go through special training to look as authentic as possible. Daniel Sunjata who plays Franco says the greatest lesson he learned was how to use a halligan, the all purpose tool used by fireman tool for breaking glass, and prying things apart.rn |
Mike Lombardi is Mike the probie Silletti who not only has to endure the pranks of his fellow firemen, but try not to get crushed by the fire truck every time it pulls out of the fire house. Mike says knowing this was invaluable advice. |
“Most of the advice that they have given us has been pretty simple stuff like how to hold a halligan for instance. Which direction to hold a hook pointing up, stuff that makes us come off as being authentic. There’s been a lot of little things, not one particular thing that made the biggest impression.” |
Season three of Rescue Me premieres tonight at 10PM on FXrn |
“It’s an interesting thing being a probie. When the truck’s pulling out of the house the probies are always the last guy on so when the truck makes the corner pulling out of the garage there have been probies who have been crushed against the wall from the corner of the rig so I think that’s pretty important to know when you’re loading on the truck.” |
