Rapper Remy Ma recently got some good news and some bad news. The good news was that her attempted murder charges were reduced to first degree assault charges for allegedly shooting a close friend during an argument over $3,000 in July. The bad news is that the rapper was hit with the additional charges of gang assault, tampering with a witness, intimidating a victim and third-degree assault for allegedly having her boyfriend’s crew beat up the boyfriend of a potential witness in her case. |
According to authorities, Remy Ma bumped into the man at a Bronx nightclub on August 19th. She allegedly said, “Your girlfriend is changing her number on me. People are talking on the stand.” Ma’s associates later allegedly beat up the man and a second man who was with him. One man suffered a black eye and a fractured bone in his face, the other suffered a broken jaw. The injuries required one of them to spend a week in the hospital and to have a metal plate put in his face. |
“I put out the ‘Whateva’ joint with Swizz. I put out the ‘Conceited’ joint with Scott Storch. I did the ‘Feel So Good’ with Ne-Yo. And I executive produced my own first album. I did everything the way I wanted to do it. And I may not have got the big record sales that everybody expected to get and the label wasn’t behind me a hundred percent how they were suppose to but I felt like I made my point. That’s a stepping stone that I’mma use to go somewhere else. Like I’m not gonna turn back like, ‘Oh I didn’t sell this.’ I’m in the studio everyday, working everyday and I’mma do the same thing all over again.” |
In related news, Ma has been keeping busy on the musical front. She released a mixtape titled The BX Files and she’s working on her sophomore album, PunisHer. The rapper shared that although her debut, There’s Something About Remy, didn’t move major units she still made her point. Remy Ma said, |
