RED JUMPSUIT WARPED APPARATUS FOR ROAD
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus played Warped in 2006 and 2007, and they compare the two. |
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus were one of the bands returning to Warped Tour this year. One year ago they were a band without a hit as “Face Down” was just released, and they return one year later as one of the artists who have a significant amount of commercial success with that song crossing over to the pop charts. |
We asked the band the difference between playing Warped in 2006 as opposed to 2007. |
“Looking back at a year ago, the only difference is that Ronnie’s hair has gotten longer and all of us have cut our hair to the same exact length every single day just to make sure that’s happened. Actually last year we started off the Warped Tour in a van with no AC and no seats. Later on we moved up to an RV with no generator or no AC either, so Warped Tour sucked pretty much for us last year. A lot of people treated us like crap, but we loved the tour, and we loved the kids. We made a lot of connections in different cities, and played awesome shows thanks to Kevin, and he invited us back again. We were on the mainstage this year in a bus that actually works, almost fully, and I guess we’re all way better friends too.” |
We also asked them if they’ve finally mastered the art of touring. |
“We definitely… We pretty much have been touring pretty much two-and-a-half years straight, and we’re still best friends. We’re still working with the same crew members, still playing the same record actually. It’s kind of like we haven’t… we’re kind of like in a time warp. I guess we’re one year better.” |
The band has since released “False Pretense” and the ballad “Your Guardian Angel.” The band will be on MTV’s The Hills on September 24. With Warped done for the summer Red Jumpsuit Apparatus are spending some much needed time at home before playing a few October dates. |
