RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS DEBUT AT NUMBER ONE
Red Hot Chili Peppers new album Stadium Arcadium will debut at Number One with sales of almost half-a-million. Anthony Kiedis discusses sales and the album, here! |
Red Hot Chili Peppers latest album, Stadium Arcadium, is set to debut at Number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. The feat is impressive because the band sold nearly ½ a million copies, and it’s a double album. |
The collection sports 28 songs, and Stadium Arcadium became the number two selling rock record of the year. Vocalist Anthony Kiedis talked about album sales. |
“Not everybody is in this to sell records. Some people just do it because they have a need to make music and they’re happy to be in a completely different arena, an un media generated area, and it seems to work out fine. I’ve got friends that play in tiny little clubs for twenty people, and they seem very pleased with it. There’s room for a lot of different experiences out there.” |
Kiedis added that the Chili Peppers didn’t set out to make a double album, it just turned out that way. |
“It’s unpredictable. When the spirit moves you, you try to be there to let it do what it wants to do. We got twenty-eight songs and we like them and put them on the record. Yeah, let the chips fall where they may.” |
Red Hot Chili Peppers sales have been spurred on by the single “Dani California” and the band will hit the road on a world tour starting May 30th in Barcelona, Spain. |
