Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to release their first album in four years with the May 9th release of Stadium Arcadium. The band quickly found themselves too prolific for the standard 12 to 17 song single set.

The effort is a double-disc set, rewarding the patience of Chili Peppers fans everywhere, and guitarist John Frusicante told us that it’s their best album yet.

“That’s how I feel about it. It’s up to the public to decide how they feel about it. Twenty five songs, we recorded thirty-eight, we’re putting out twenty-five, double CD.”

The Red Hot Chili Peppers forthcoming album is already recorded and was produced by Rick Rubin. The band is currently in the studio mixing Stadium Arcadium. The band does plan a tour surrounding the album, but no dates have been announced at press time.
