RAY WINSTONE, EPIC WARRIOR

Ray Winstone stars as the epic warrior Beowulf.

Through the magic of three D digital animation the 5’10” Henry VIII star Ray Winstone can become the sexy beast Beowulf, a 6’6” Viking warrior with eight pack abs who slays the demon Grendel in the buff.

The London East Ender says he was never introduced to the epic tale while he was in school.

“I knew nothing about the story itself. I think probably they seem to know more about it in America than they do in England. My children told me; they’ve heard of it. Perhaps I come from the East End, we just didn’t read books like that you know. Maybe that was the case. I wish we had, I mean it’s a fantastic story.”

Ray discusses what motivates Beowulf to be heroic.

“He’s a man whose greed for gold and ambition for power and fame is the thing that actually eats him away. And the thing that he wanted was always in front of him. Kind of always in front of him and the thing in his arms in the end is his son and his son’s a monster but in fact he’s a bigger monster. Beowulf is a monster.”

Ray is set to film another action adventure story, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf.
