Rage Against The Machine and Flobots will play in Denver during the Democratic National Convention for an anti-war festival. |
Rage Against The Machine and Flobots will team up and perform at the Tent State Music Festival To End The War” on August 27 at the Denver Coliseum. Coinciding with the Democratic National Convention, it’s an early start as doors open at 9:30am and shows start at 11:00am. The tickets are free and can be obtained through a lottery at tentstate.org. The event isn’t just another anti-war gathering. It’s being done in conjunction with the Iraq Veterans Against the War. |
Flobots vocalist/lyricist Jonny 5 talked about throwing their hat into the socio-political ring, like presidential hopeful Barack Obama. |
“It’s sort of a wikipedia model of activism almost. We are not ourselves going to be on the cutting edge of every category, or almost any category, of social activism. We know we’re stepping into the spotlight as sort of symbols of this larger shift of consciousness that’s happening in this country similar to the way someone like Obama is a symbol. And he was able to do a lot of mobilizing and inspire a lot of hope, but ultimately there’s something bigger that’s happening that’s bigger than Obama and our band.” |
The festival also features The Coup, State Radio, and Wayne Kramer. |
