RAGE AGAINST THE GUITAR HERO
Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello talks about getting beat at Guitar Hero. |
Rage Against The Machine, and former Audioslave, axeman Tom Morello is a big fan of Guitar Hero and he makes an appearance in the game. Morello was wired up for animated simulation in the actual game of Guitar Hero III, but he does have to taste some humble pie. |
Morello talked about kids beating him and playing his own songs better than him. |
“I’m a fan of the first Guitar Hero games because they keep me very humble. I have the game at my house and 11 year old kids can beat me at my own songs, so that’s a very humbling experience. I figured if I was actually in the game, then I get to play on an electric guitar and those kids have got to try and keep up with that. So they can press all those blue and yellow buttons all they want and let’s see! Here we go. It’s on. I was a huge fan of the movie Crossroads, which is an older movie, and it had a guitar head-cutting competition in it, and that was very exciting to me. The idea of two guitar players on stage trying to defeat the other, so it’s exciting to be in the game trying to defeat all of you.” |
Guitar Hero also features Slash, the Sex Pistols and a multitude of other artists throughout the game. Early estimates for the season have Guitar Hero III kicking the butt of Halo 3, with plenty more to be hidden under trees this Christmas. Meanwhile, Morello’s “Ode to a Butterfly I Saw One Sunny Spring Morning” appears on the new battlepacks to the game. |
