RADHA MITCHELL EXPLORES FACETS OF LOVE
Radha Mitchell was the object of two men’s affections in Melinda and Melinda, and in Finding Neverland she played the adoring wife of Johnny Depp’s James Barrie. |
In Feast of Love Radha plays out yet a different kind of love story, one that involves unattainable love with a married man and staid love with a new husband. She considers the definition of the word that can take on many different meanings. |
“What is love? I would say it’s the chemistry that draws people together and binds them together. I would say it’s one reason for living. I think you can be in love with a number of people over your life. It’s quite possible but there is a time where you commit to the idea of being with one person and into the mystery of what that’s gonna reveal to you.” |
Radha says Feast of Love explores love running the gamut from a mid 30s relationship crisis to 30 years of marriage. |
“You know a movie about love you think it’s gonna be mushy and sentimental and have this kind of succinctly happy ending whereas this one gets into the nitty gritty of love, it turns it upside down. It explores the idea of this innocent spontaneous love and then this mid 30s complexity, what am I doing with my life kind of love. And then this sort of mellow love of two people who have been together for 30 years and trust each other and have this beautiful friendship. So it explores it in many different ways.” |
Next Radha returns to her native Australia to play the tour captain of a wildlife cruise in Rogue which takes a deadly turn when a man-eating crocodile stalks the Americans on holiday. |
