QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE WILL NOT SETTLE DOWN, EXCEPT FOR FANS
Queens Of The Stone Age will be returning with a new album of material titled Era Vulgaris, and it’s slated for a June release. Guests on the album include The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, Trent Reznor, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, and Erma Bombeck. |
Queens singer Josh Homme talked about collaborating with other artists, and Queens Of The Stone Age settling down with one specific line-up. |
“Does it seem like there will be? I don’t know. Long ago I lost the opportunity to be in U2 — where it’s the same four guys. I respect that, but at the same time this is the search to try to take advantage of playing with certain people, even if they can’t stay, and then there’s other times that you need to humble yourself at the altar of of music, and if you don’t (makes a throat cutting motion).” |
Homme also indicated that he doesn’t make records for radio or to be the next sensation. He says they’re for the fans. |
“Our records are always for people that are already in the band. They’ve been here longer than someone who isn’t into the band yet. I make records for people that already have record because they’re my folks, my friends.” |
Queens Of The Stone Age’s Era Vulgaris also features a guest appearance by former member and former Screaming Trees frontman Mark Lanegan. Still no sign of bassist Nick Oliveri, who left the band after the Songs For The Deaf album. |
