QUEEN LATIFAH HONORED BY HOMETOWN

Rapper/Actress Queen Latifah will be honored with the first ever Rosa Parks Lifetime Achievement Award by her hometown of Newark, NJ.

Rev. Keith Marshall of Macedonia Baptist Church will preside over the ceremony and present the award to her family on her behalf. Due to unspecified reasons Latifah will not be in attendance.

The contributions of Civil Rights activists Rosa Parks and Coretta Scott King will also be recognized at the ceremony. The presentation will take place at George Washington Carver Elementary School on February 20th from 1-3 pm ET.

Latifah has also been selected as one of the coaches for this year’s celebrity game during NBA All-Star Weekend this February 18-20.
