PROOF ESTATE SUED
The family of slain bouncer Keith Bender filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the estate of the late Detroit rapper, Proof’s. The family of Bender claim Proof, real name Deshaun Holton, “violently assaulted and battered (Bender), culminating with the infection of a gunshot injury that caused the death of Mr. Bender.” |
Allegedly, Proof was the one who shot bender in an altercation in front of CCC nightclub on 8 Mile Road in Detroit. “It’s shameful that Mr. Holton is being lauded as a hero and martyr, when in fact, it was his own criminalistic conduct that not only led to his death, but took the life of an honorable, innocent man,” said Michael Cafferty, a lawyer representing the Bender family. |
A toxicology report done on Proof, who also died in the incident, showed an alcohol level of 0.32. That registers more than three times higher than the level at which a person can be convicted for drunken driving. A report for Bender will not be available for another three weeks. |
David Gorosh, Proof’s lawyer, was unable to be reached for comments. |
