PROJEKT REVOLUTION HELPS SAOSIN PREP FIRST HEADLINING TOUR
Saosin have started their first ever headlining tour and the band talk about Projekt Revolution helping them get prepared. |
After performing on Projekt Revolution this summer with Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday, Saosin have started their first North American headlining tour and the band couldn’t be more ready to finally get the chance. Saosin, who are currently still touring in support of their Capitol Records self titled debut release, took a lot of knowledge from touring on Projekt Revolution with such an amazing lineup of bands and they feel the summer’s tour really prepared them for what lies ahead being the headliner. |
We caught up with Saosin’s lead vocalist Cove Reber to discuss the band’s first headlining tour coming on the heels of such a successful summer tour on Linkin Park’s Projekt Revolution. |
“Projekt Revolution was a great, great way to kind of set up this headlining tour. We feel like a lot of those kids coming back, we felt like we could gain a bigger audience that wasn’t there before by playing on Projekt Revolution. So, it’s awesome for us to come back and play to all those kids that have seen us on Projekt Revolution and on Taste of Chaos and all these tours that we have done.” |
How does the band feel about making the jump to being the headlining act on this tour? |
“This is our first official headlining tour and we’re kind of pulling out as many tricks out of the bag as we possibly can. I think a lot of the kids that are coming back from these tours that we’ve done in the past are going to appreciate what we do on our own headlining tour. It’s awesome, I’ve very, very excited to continue this headlining tour and then headline in the future because now we have the opportunity to do what we want to do and play for as long as we want to play. There’s no time limit and that’s a really cool thing.” |
Saosin are currently on the road with Norma Jean, Alexisonfire and Envy On The Coast, with U.S. tour dates booked until November 7th at Irving Plaza in New York. The band has also announced a run of shows through Canada beginning December 1st in Vancouver, BC and extending until December 16th in Mississauga, Canada. Look for the band to head back into the studio in 2008 as the band looks to build on the success of ‘Saosin’ which peaked at #22 on the US Billboard Chart. |
