POPULAR RADIO DJ FIRED OVER OFFENSIVE REMARKS

Former Power 105.1 morning show host Star, real name Troi Torain, was arrested in Lower Manhattan last week on charges of harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. The charges stem from remarks made about rival Hot 97 DJ Envy’s 4-year-old-daughter and wife.

The ongoing rivalry between the two escalated last week, when Star offered $500 to any listener who can tell him where Envy’s daughter attended school in order to perform lewd acts on the child. “Yes, I disrespect your seed,” Star said live on the air about Envy’s daughter. ”If you didn’t hear me, I said I would like to do an R. Kelly on your seed. On your little baby girl.

Star has since issued an apology via his attorney, Benjamin Brafman calling his comments “unsuitable and inappropriate.” An investigation currently is underway by the Manhattan district attorney’s office and the NYPD’s Hate Crime Taks Force due to the DJ’s comments. Star is currently out on $2,000 bail.
