POLOW DA DOM STARTS ZONE 4 LABEL
Producer Polow Da Don, whose real name is Polow-Freache Jones, has inked a label deal with Interscope Records to launch his own Zone 4 Records. The producer, who has produced hits for Fergie, Rich Boy, T.I., the Pussycat Dolls, Ludacris, Ciara, and others, began his career as a member of Atlanta-based rap group, Jim Crow. The group released two albums before disbanding. |
Polow attended a luncheon in honor of Kevin Liles last month in Los Angeles. The producer shared that he hopes to follow in Liles footsteps by being a leader in the Atlanta music scene. He said, |
“Of course Mr. Liles, you know he’s a legend. He’s the reason why I’m in the game. As far as the motivational stand point, I’m just trying to keep it going man like really….I wanna real like….Dude laid the foundation and now that the game is like pretty much based in Atlanta. Like it’s people like me that’s trying to do the same thing. It’s just inspirational.” |
