POLICE LOOK TO RAPPERS FOR ANSWERS
The NYPD has focused on Busta Rhymes and his fellow rapper Tony Yayo and producer Swizz Beatz in the shooting of bodyguard Israel Ramirez on Rhymes music video set in Brooklyn, NY on February 5. |
Ramirez,29, was shot in the back around 12:30am after an argument spilled onto the street from inside the studio where Rhymes “Touch It (Remix)” was being filmed. |
Reports say that the arguing men were escorted outside, with Busta Rhymes following the men to calm the situation. |
According to NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly, “An individual took out a gun and fired at least eight shots” after the men began to tussle. |
There have been conflicting reports as to whether Rhymes was on the sidewalk where Ramirez was shot. The rapper told police he was inside the building at the time of the studio, while a witness claims Rhymes witnessed the shooting. |
