POLICE CLOSE TO ARRESTING SUSPECT IN JAM MASTER JAY MURDER
The New York Police Department is finally close to making an arrest in the 2002 murder of Run-DMC’s Jam Master Jay and the 1995 muder of Tupac Shakur affiliate and Live Squad member Randy “Stretch” Walker. Career criminal Ronald “Tenard” Washington, who was found guilty of committing a string of roberries in 2002, is expected to be charged as an accessory to both murders. |
Washington, who is currently behind bars, told the Boston Herald, “They want to blame me for all the blood in rap. They are trying to pen me up for these murders.” Washington was identified by Lydia High, the receptionist at Jam Master Jay’s studio, as the man who forced her to lay face down as another man murdered the rap legend. But according to Washington, it’s all lies. He said, “It’s all lies. She’s telling them that I was mad at Jay because he is doing better than I am, that I killed Stretch because he owed me something and I wanted it. She is making up lies because they threatened to deport her.” |
“For me I don’t Iook just the murder in particular because every day there’s a Jay, there’s a Biggie, there’s a Tupac, dying in the hood. I’m not really particular mad at the dude that killed Jay. The fight is against the entity, that mindstate, that consciousness, that cause they got to do that because if you think about it. Jay he could have had his studio in Hollywood. He could have had his studio right down the block from Bad Boy here in Manhattan. His studio was five blocks from where he grew up. He got away from it. He went back to say, ‘Yo ya’ll can get out of here.’ The very thing that Jay got away from to go back to get everybody else away from, is the thing that killed him. That’s where the problem lies.” |
Run-DMC’s DMC shared that to him the problem is bigger than just arresting the shooter. He said, |
