PLAIN WHITE Ts – THREE IS A CHARM
Three is a charm for Plain White T’s who find themselves with an Alternative staple in “Hey There Delilah.” |
Plain White T’s have solidified their place as a Top 5 Alternative Rock band with their song “Hey There Delilah” off their album Every Second Counts. Their first single “Hate (I Really Don’t Like You),” was the tune that opened the door for Delilah and put the band on the map. |
The album is full of strong songs, but Tom Higgenson and Dave Tirio said that the band only had three days to get their aptly titled album, Every Second Counts, together. |
[Tom] “We basically had to put all the songs that we had written together in three days.” [Dave] “…and then decide which ones to record…” [Tom] “And luckily a few of the songs were already put together for the most part. [Dave] “But the fact of the matter is that it came together quickly and then when we got to the studio everyone played them pretty well. We got lucky with that.” [Tom] “And it was surprisngly very easy almost. It was very smooth.” [Dave] “…because of our producer.” |
The Plain White T’s were also bounced around and recorded in three separate studios. |
[Tom] “We did it in three sepaarate studios, and the second studio was probably the worst of the three.” [Dave] “God, I hope he doesn’t see this.” [Tom] “Well… maybe the smallest or the…” [Dave] “Right. It’s more kind.” [Tom] “A few of the tracks when we got to the third studio were just not holding up, so we had to record a few of the things over again.” |
Plain White T’s recently finished up two shows in Hawaii, and they’ll have a few weeks before starting another leg of their tour June 28 in Mitchellville, MD at Six Flags Great America. |
