PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN AT WORLDS END TAKES BOX BOOTY

Pirates of the Caribbean At World’s End beat the box office for the holiday weekend.

Pirates of The Caribbean: At World’s End didn’t have to walk the box office plank taking in $112.5 million over the holiday weekend. The swashbuckling sequel took in $43 million alone its opening day.

Pirates star Johnny Depp talks about having to possibly say goodbye to Captain Jack Sparrow.

“I found myself going to the director, going to Gore and saying, ‘are you sure there’s nothing else we can shoot? Maybe I should do another take just to make sure we got that properly.’ Maybe I’m just trying to avoid the inevitable saying goodbye to this person I’ve known for upteen months and have been very close to. I hope I get to see Captain Jack again but if I do I do, if I don’t I got to spend a lot of time with him anyway.”

Johnny talks about where he thinks Captain Jack will go down in pirate history.

“I actually think that there were some pirates certainly that were villainous or thieving horrific thugs. But I actually think that there were some pirates who were a bit more like Captain Jack who were just sort of let’s have a ball. Let’s get what we can get, do what we can do and come through it as unscathed as possible. Try not to hurt anybody, try not to get hurt and have a drink.”

Pirates three is still predicted to deliver the largest Memorial Day weekend opening ever with an estimated box office $168 million through Monday. Dead Man’s Chest drew $135 million last summer in its first four days.
