PINK FLOYD REVEALED IN MASON BOOK
(VIDEO) Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason released Inside Out: A Personal History Of Pink Floyd, and he talked aobut the things in the book fans just have to know… here! |
Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason recently visited New York City to promote the band’s Pulse DVD, but he also highlighed his literary work. His book Inside Out: A Personal History Of Pink Floyd, documents every aspect of the band. Mason should know. He’s the longest standing member, having spent nearly 40 years in Pink Floyd. |
While many seek to focus on his take on the relationships between David Gilmour and Roger Waters — who no longer is in the band — Mason prefers to look at a different aspect of Inside Out: A Personal History Of Pink Floyd. We asked him what the most enlightening part of the book was for fans of the band. |
“Um, I think probably the fact that although we’re seen as a band who have been fighting for the last twenty years, and perhaps a very serious band, but in manyt ways we’re an architypal rock and roll band — albiet not as badly behaved as some of them. But Pink Floyd is not something that was born of the planet Zog. We actually started as a regular band and then very gradually developed something that is what it is today. I think that’s quite interesting — interesting to me anyway — that what seems to be a grand plan was nothing of the sort. It was just sort of amble along the yellow brick road of life.” |
Inside Out: A Personal History Of Pink Floyd is enjoying brisk sales, and it’s availalbe through Chronicle books at a reasonable $29.99. their Pulse DVD is already among the Top 10 music DVDs of all time, and the band has sold over 116 million albums worldwide. |
