UGK’s Pimp C was granted parole and could be released from prison in time for Christmas. The rapper’s UGK groupmate Bun B told a Texas radio host, “Word’s coming back that he’s been approved for parole and should be home in the next 60 days. It’s definitely a blessing, it’s a beautiful thing. I hope that everybody will be able to burn the Free Pimp C shirts real soon and throwing those caps away. Then we can start rocking the Welcome Back Pimp C.”

Pimp C has been incarcerated since January 28th, 2001, when he was sentenced to eight years behind bars for parole violations on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.

“Like Pimp and I understand that life is cyclic, the world is cyclic and everything moves in cycles and we can’t hold Number One forever. There’s a lot of young talent out there that’s ready to lead the charge or whatever so that we can fall back and concentrate on other avenues that we can be taking advantage of, you know what I’m sayin’? The future of UGK is musically artists like Lil Weebie, Lil Boosie, artists like the Middle Fingaz.”
