PETER PAN PREMIERES IN LONDON
Magic and fairy dust was in the air at the Peter Pan premiere in London celebrating the release of the Disney animated classic platinum edition DVD. London is the perfect city to host the premiere as it’s home of the Peter Pan statue and Sir James Barrie who wrote the novel Neverland. |
Marget Kerry, the original model and voice of Tink, Peter Pan’s faithful fairy recalls meeting the man himself. |
“Well when I got the call to see whether they would cast me as Tinkerbell the magic of Disney was there. It was there for everybody who was working in the industry. Now we’re talking about 1951, 1952 around there. Disney, uh! So you went on the lot and you went, it’s true it’s magic here. And I was on the soundstage doing my little thing as you could see right there there I am this pert little thing in my bathing suit. And who comes walking on the sound stage but Walt Disney.” |
Kathryn Beaumont, the original model and voice for Wendy who flies with Peter Pan to Neverland talks about experiencing the film over and over again. |
“I think that the public is going to enjoy this wonderful new remastering of the film because it is such a great adventure. And it’s a special film. It has such wonderful characters and the humor in it, the music in it. I think a lot of people will really enjoy it. I know I just still love it even though I’ve seen it several times at different times in my life. Each time I see it I see something new and special about it.” |
