PAUL RUDD DOES KARAOKE WITH KEN MARINO
When Paul Rudd and Ken Marino weren’t shooting The Ten, they were singing in karaoke bars. |
The Ten stars Paul Rudd and Ken Marino have a friendship that goes back to their time making Wet Hot American Summer. |
So what do two buddies do when they’re not slaving on a movie set? Paul says they go to the hottest karaoke clubs in New York. |
“I had a song I used to do a lot. I like to mix it up. I like to do songs I’ve never done before because I’m lame. That I actually moved past even having a signature karaoke song. We’ll sometimes go with some people and I’ll put in a song for Ken and then he has to sing whatever I put in for him. Actually if you meet him ask him to do his James Taylor for you. It’s staggering. It sounds like James Taylor. Ken’s got a really good voice but he can mimic. His two perfect mimics in my opinion which is weird, James Taylor and Macy Gray.” |
The Ten writer and director David Wain and Ken Marino give their own karaoke contribution. |
“Can you do Gomer Pyle? Ken: Golleee. What do you think? David: That’s pretty good too. So if you can do James, Macy and Gomer you got a whole night of karaoke. Ken: Yeah what’s the famous Gomer Pyle song? David: (singing) I’m Gomer Pyle, I go to the place where I go.” |
Paul’s signature song in case you’re wondering was Wichita Lineman. |
