PAUL REISER TELLS LOVE STORIES IN 90 SECONDS
(VIDEO) The two and a half minute episodic Love Bites is the latest offering from Mad About You star Paul Reiser encapsulizing relationship issues. |
Paul Reiser creator and star of television’s Mad About You has his married finger on the pulse of relationship quibbles. As executive producer of Love Bites, Paul knows everyone loves a quickie so he’s cutting to the chase with two and a half minute tidbits airing on TBS. |
The couple in Love Bites played by Lauren Bittner and David Julian Hirsh act out all the nitpicky bickering that every couple goes through. |
“It’s a two and a half minute comedy. You’ve never seen a two and a half minute show. It’s actually kind of cool. We’ve decided and we’ve done research and people can’t watch two minutes of anything. That’s about as much as they can watch so the genius of our show is at two and a half minutes you’re done. Your commitment is over. You can go outside and play.” |
After seven years Reiser says Paul and Jamie Buchman would be shopping for towels at Linen and Things. Paul whose been married for 18 years can relate to the ups and downs of keeping a relationship fresh. He reveals his secret. |
“It’s a romantic comedy about this couple in their twenties at their sort of quarter life century and trying to get together so each episode is just a little moment of this burgeoning couple; the first time they meet, the first time they have sex. The first time they have an argument. And we’ve got these two great actors who really have this great chemistry which is a word I used to hate hearing. I watch these guys now and I think they’re the kids that I feel like pop’s comedy. We did a show Mad About You years ago and I’ve become their grandfather now which is kind of fun and sad.” |
Love Bites episodes will roll out over 13 weeks after Sex and The City at 10PM and 11PM on TBS. |
“I have been married 16 terrific years, 18 years altogether; a couple of weeks here and there weren’t so great so if you add it up you lose like a year or two. It’s no honeymoon. You know what’s good I go away once in awhile to New York and she likes to travel and you suddenly go, ‘Oh I miss them.’ Going away is good, leaving the house is good. I think if you sat and stared at each other you would go nuts. I don’t know, you have to pick the right person. I don’t know if I could be married to anyone else but the wonderful woman I married. And she’s nuts by the way just to give you an idea.” |
