PARAMORE SELLING OUT SHOWS A RIOT
Paramore are enjoying tremendous success with ‘Riot!’ and the band talks about selling out shows on their first U.S. headlining tour. |
On the strength of the bands sophomore album ‘Riot!,’ which debuted at #15 on The U.S. Billboard Chart, Paramore are enjoying the success of selling out shows in major markets from coast to coast. Already with sold out shows in Los Angeles, Dallas, Philadelphia and New York, Paramore with the help of their label, Fueled by Raman are definitely on the fast track to worldwide notoriety. |
We caught up with Paramore recently to get their thoughts on the fast rising success of the band and all the sold out shows along the way. |
“This is the first U.S. headliner we’ve done since Riot came out so we’re stoked. We love playing these songs every night, and the crowds have been ridiculous. So, it’s really fun. I’m going to be sad when it ends.” |
The band also had to replace guitarist Hunter Lamb, who left the band just before the recording process of ‘Riot!’ We also talked with lead vocalist Hayley Williams on having a member leave the band just before recording the album. |
“We actually lost a member. He was getting married and he was kind of distracted. I think it’s kind for the better now. That’s definitely hard to go through when you’re trying to focus on writing a record and getting the best parts of yourself out there for people to hear. We also had a great team to work with, thought, and we really couldn’t have done it without them. They really believed in us. David Bendeth, who produced the record, really gave us a chance to be who we wanted to be.” |
So with Hunter gone from the band, it was lead guitarist and primary song writer with Hayley, Josh Farro who had the task of recording both the lead and the rhythm guitar parts. We also wanted to discuss Josh’s thoughts on the challenges of recording all the guitars for the album. |
“To teach someone the guitar part and then have them execute it the way I saw it in my head would be a little more difficult than me just going ahead and playing it myself. It was definitely challenging sometimes because we recorded thirteen songs, and it was just a lot of guitar tracks. But in the end I felt like I accomplished something, so it felt good.” |
Paramore are currently on a U.S. headlining tour with dates extending until November 28th in New York. On the strength of two hit singles, ‘Misery Business’ and ‘CrushCrushCrush’ the band is continuing to have very successful ticket sales at each stop along the way. The band will be playing a home town show in Nashville, Tennessee just before Thanksgiving on November 21st and the band couldn’t be happier to be at home for Thanksgiving, in a year where they certainly have a lot to be thankful for. |
