PARAMORE HAS BRAND NEW EYES FOR NUMBER 2 DEBUT

Paramore’s second album, and their Atlantic Records debut, RIOT, has been certified platinum for a million units sold, and the band talks maturity.

Paramore have released their highly anticipated album “Brand New Eyes” and the album, which was produced by Rob Cavallo in Los Angeles, Ca, debuted at #2 on The Billboard Top 200 Chart as well as being on the top of the charts in many other countries like Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the United Kingdom, making it the band’s most successful album to date. “Brand New Eyes” was the follow up album to the bands 2007 mega breakout hit album “Riot.” With lead vocalist Hayley Williams and guitarist Josh Farro once again shouldering the majority of the songwriting, it’s clear there is something special musically between the two and “Brand New Eyes” is no exception.

The stunning sales success of “Brand New Eyes” began last month with unprecedented pre-order numbers. Over 34,000 albums were sold in advance of its official release – the most successful album pre-order campaign in Fueled By Ramen’s label history. “Brand New Eyes” is also proving a massive international hit, entering the album charts at #1 in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK as well as #2 in Mexico and #3 in Canada. The album’s chart-topping success isn’t the only evidence of Paramore’s increasing superstardom in the UK – over 40,000 tickets for their upcoming tour were sold in just one day, with the band’s first-ever headline date at London’s 12,500-capacity Wembley Arena, slated for December 18th, selling out in little more than eight hoursrn

“I think Josh and I make a really good team as far as writing and building a foundation for each song that we write. He always brings me music that he’s coming up with and if we feel like there’s something there, then I’ll take it home and come up with the melodies and lyrics for it. We just build off of each other. It works out that way because once that’s done we can bring what we have to the rest of the band.”

Artisan News caught up with Paramore to discuss songwriting and why the pair of Hayley Williams and Josh Farro work so well together.

Two versions of “Brand New Eyes” are available; a standard CD edition as well as a deluxe package which has sold out in the United States. The deluxe package will include the album on CD, a 40-page hardcover journal, Hayley Williams’ handwritten lyrics and notes on the album, a color vinyl 7″ single with two acoustic songs and a DVD featuring an exclusive ‘making-of’ documentary. Paramore are currently touring in support of “Brand New Eyes” along with Paper Route and The Swellers. The North American leg of the tour extends until November 11th in Los Angeles, Ca before heading over seas to Europe in December.
