PAPA ROACH GOES EXTRA-SENSORY FOR PARAMOUR SESSIONS
(VIDEO) Papa Roach is readying their new album, Paramour Sessions, and drummer Dave Buckner says studio writing is an Extra-Sensory experience. |
Papa Roach is set to release the Paramour Sessions, and it’s slated to hit stores September 12. The first single from the album is “To Be Loved.” The band is currently piecing together a tour in support of the follow-up to Getting Away With Murder. |
P-Roach actually started writing the album while on the road. We caught up with the band on the road right before heading in to do the album, and drummer Dave Buckner said they had some songs written on the road. He said that songs on the road are a lot different than the ones that happen when they’re all in the studio. |
“That’s one way of writing, out here on the road just jotting down ideas is one way of making a song, but there’s something to be said about getting together with four people in a room and seeing what kind of energy you can create. Some of the best songs happen on the fly, like, ‘What’s that part? Oh, you’re doing that? Let’s try this,’ not even talking with each other. It’s just like speaking, trying to get that extra sensory kinda thing happening, that psychic connection.” |
Papa Roach crossed over to the pop charts for the first time on the strength of their smash hit “Scars.” The band broke out of the rap-rock scene at the turn of the century with the thumping “Last Resort” off their Interscope records debut, Infest. |
