PANIC AT THE DISCO ODD NUMBER 2, SAYS SIGNING NOT SMART BY WENTZ?
Panic At The Disco’s new album debuted at Number Two, and it sold the 2nd most for Fueled By Ramen except for Fall Out Boy with that Wentz magic. |
Panic At The Disco’s new album “Pretty. Odd.” has debuted at the Number Two spot on the Billboard 200. It also debuted at Number One on Soundscan’s Current Alternative Albums chart and Number Two on the Digital Albums chart. The album is fueled by the song “Nine In The Afternoon,” which is Alternative Top Ten and snaking its way up the Top 40, Hot AC, and Triple A radio format charts. |
The band’s total first week sales is second only to Fall Out Boy, and Brendan Urie and Ryan Ross discuss being signed by that band’s bassist Pete Wentz. |
[Ross] “It was too easy. It shouldn’t have been that easy.” [Urie] “It really was too easy. I remember the night that I actually got the call from Ryan. Ryan had emailed Pete giving him the link to the songs we put on the internet. He called me back that night, ‘I got an email back from Pete, he’s says going to come down to Vegas and look at us. So he came down and watched us play three songs acoustic, and we were driving him back to the hotel he was staying at. And he just then he told us, ‘I’m interested in signing you guys. Check this out. We’ll talk about this more…’ Only after three songs, which doesn’t seem the smartest way of going about it.” |
