OWEN WILSON WARMS UP TO INDIA
Owen Wilson had an unexpectedly good experience shooting in India. |
Owen Wilson stars in The Darjeeling Limited as the eldest brother of three who plans a spiritual journey through India to find their mother who has escaped to an Ashram following the death of their father. |
Owen’s character arrives on the train covered in bandages because he’s just been in a terrible accident and feels responsible for getting his family back on track traveling together on this train. He talks about how his expectations of India were very different from what he saw when he arrived. |
“I had to go get all these shots and you have to get malaria pills and you’re thinking this is going to be kind of no frills production. But then you get here and maybe because I kind of braced myself and thought it was gonna be so overcrowded and polluted; you get here and I’ve really enjoyed being here. I’ve really liked it.” |
Owen like his character was transformed by his experience in India. |
“The people are really so friendly and a lot of the crew was Indian and everybody seems to have gotten along. I think going into it and thinking with kind of low expectations for what time I was gonna have outside of shooting has made it where I’ve kind of been nicely surprised about how much I’ve liked it here.” |
Owen related to the family dynamic of The Darjeeling Limited having two brothers of his own, Luke and Andrew. |
